Background Information: Riley has been getting into major trouble at school lately, and she is sent to live with her Aunt Monika and Grandmother Adeline in Germany as a way of punishment. During her first night at her grandmother's house, a huge storm strikes the house and upon hearing something downstairs, she decides to look around the house only to find a basement. Letting curiosity get the best of her, Riley enters the room and finds a giant collection of alchemy books and other things of the sort. While lost in her grandmother's past, she steps on something sharp and walks backwards from the desk, unknowingly activating a transmutation circle.
* In no way, shape, or form am I trying to copy Rumiko Takahashi’s “time travel—reincarnation” idea. I just thought it would be an interesting way to approach a fan-fic for Fullmetal Alchemist.
